A Mennonite favorite!
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
1 cup hot water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/3 cup oil
1 cup milk
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon salt
Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine 1 cup sugar, cocoa, hot water and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract in a small
bowl. Set aside.
In another mixing bowl, cream together 2 cups sugar, eggs and oil, then add
remaining ingredients.
Pour creamed mixture into two (9-inch) pie crusts and then pour chocolate
mixture on top. Bake for approximately 45 minutes. Test with a wooden pick for
doneness.
