Upside Down Chocolate Pudding Cake

1 cup Bisquick baking mix
1 cup granulated sugar, divided
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder plus
    3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 2/3 cups hot water

Mix the Bisquick, 1/2 cup of the sugar, 3 tablespoons of the cocoa, milk and vanilla extract. Spoon batter evenly into a greased crock pot.

Mix remaining ingredients. Pour over batter in crock pot. Cook on HIGH for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, or until batter is set. Be careful not to overcook.

Serve hot with ice cream.
