Banana Toffee Bread recipe

3/4 cup butter flavored shortening
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
4 to 5 large ripe bananas, mashed
1 cup toffee bits (such as crumbled Heath Bars)

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and lightly flour 2 loaf pans.

In a mixing bowl, cream together the shortening and sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until creamy.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture. Fold in the mashed bananas and the toffee bits. Pour the mixture into the prepared pans.

Bake for 1 hour.

Makes 2 loaves.
