2/3 cup milk
2 eggs
8 slices apple-cinnamon bread or cinnamon-raisin bread
Vegetable oil
Butter or margarine (optional)
Maple flavored syrup (optional)
In a shallow dish, beat together milk and eggs. Dip both sides of bread into
beaten mixture. Let stand until well moistened.
On a griddle or in a large skillet, cook bread in hot oil over medium-high
heat about 2 minutes per side or until golden. Cool on wax paper.
Place in a tightly covered container and store in the refrigerator.
To serve, toast in the toaster.
Serve with margarine or butter and syrup, if desired.
Makes 4 servings.
