Butter Pecan Mallow Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 (18.25 ounce) box butter pecan cake mix*
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup coconut flakes

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Mix cake mix, butter and water until blended. Press into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan.
  3. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes.
  4. Layer marshmallows, chocolate chips, and coconut over crust.
  5. Bake for 2 to 3 minutes or until marshmallows begin to melt.
  6. Cool. Cut into bars.

Notes

* 18.25 ounce boxes of cake mix have been replaced by 16.5 ounce and 15.25 ounce boxes. To compensate for the volume loss in a 16 ounce box, whisk 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour into the dry cake mix before proceeding with the recipe. To compensate for the volume loss in a 15.25 ounce box, add 1/2 cup + 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour and 1/4 teaspoon baking powder.
