Caramel Nut Pound Cake
Ingredients
Cake
- 4 sticks butter
- 1 box brown sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 cup chopped nuts
Glaze
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Confectioners' sugar
Instructions
- Heat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease well and flour* a Bundt pan.
Cake
- Cream first 3 ingredients.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Combine dry ingredients and add alternating with milk and vanilla extract.
- Put 2/3 batter into prepared pan.
- Add mixture of 1/4 cup sugar, cinnamon and chopped nuts.
- Cover with remaining batter.
- Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Glaze
- Boil butter, milk and sugar for 1 minute. Add vanilla extract and enough confectioners' sugar to make a glaze.
