1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 (16 ounce) can crushed pineapple with juice
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
Mix dry ingredients. Add eggs and pineapple; mix thoroughly and pour into greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
Topping:
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
Mix together and sprinkle on top of cake. Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 to 45 minutes.
Glaze:
1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Pour over cake while still hot.
