John Wills Bar-B-Que Bar and Grill Memphis Barbecue Sauce
As made by John Wills of John Wills Bar-B-Que Bar and Grill in Memphis, Tennessee.
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1/2 cup spicy honey mustard
1 cup catsup
1 cup red wine vinegar
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup butter or margarine
2 tablespoons hot sauce
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon seasoned salt
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon chili powder
1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Combine all ingredients in a Dutch oven. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and
simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Yields 1 quart.
