Miss Mary's Old Fashioned German Cake

Ingredients

Crust

  • 2 cups crushed vanilla wafers
  • 1/2 pound butter

Filling

  • 2 pounds cream cheese
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup butter (melted)
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 4 packages vanilla-sugar *

Instructions

Crust

  1. Mix about 2 cups crushed vanilla wafers and 1/2 pound butter until it forms a paste. Press into the bottom of a cheesecake pan.

Filling

  1. Mix at slow speed (approximately 8 minutes) until thickened. Pour over crust.
  2. Bake at 325 degrees F for 1 hour.

Notes

* Vanilla-sugar is a German ingredient and is optional if you can't find it.
