Miss Mary's Old Fashioned German Cake
Ingredients
Crust
- 2 cups crushed vanilla wafers
- 1/2 pound butter
Filling
- 2 pounds cream cheese
- 5 eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup butter (melted)
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 4 packages vanilla-sugar *
Instructions
Crust
- Mix about 2 cups crushed vanilla wafers and 1/2 pound butter until it forms a paste. Press into the bottom of a cheesecake pan.
Filling
- Mix at slow speed (approximately 8 minutes) until thickened. Pour over crust.
- Bake at 325 degrees F for 1 hour.
Notes
* Vanilla-sugar is a German ingredient and is optional if you can't find it.
