1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
confectioners' sugar to decorate
Beat together butter, sugar and eggs until light and fluffy.
Separately, stir together dry ingredients (except confectioners' sugar), then beat into creamed mixture until well blended. Cover; chill until firm enough to handle.
On lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/8-inch thick. Cut with a star (of David) shape cookie cutter. Bake at 350 degrees F for 5 to 7 minutes or until no imprint remains when touched lightly. Cool for 1 minute before removing from pan.
When completely cooled, sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.
Yield: about 4 dozen
