You can learn more about fossils and how they were created by creating some
of your own with coffee grounds dough. I found this idea at Kids Domain Craft
Exchange at kidsdomain.com on the Web.
Supplies you will need:
1 cup used coffee grounds
1/2 cup cold coffee
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
Mixing bowl
Waxed paper
Small objects to embed in dough
1. Stir together the coffee grounds, cold coffee, flour and salt. Knead the
dough until mixed well. Flatten a portion of the mixture onto waxed paper. Press
an object found in nature, such as starfish or seashells, into the mixture to
create an impression. Remove the object.
2. Poke a hole in an edge of the fossil if you want to hang it. Set aside
until completely dry.
