Blow up a balloon. Cover the entire balloon with watered down glue using
an old paintbrush. Wrap crochet thread around the balloon in one direction,
leaving small gaps about 1/2 inch wide so the balloon isn't completely covered
Apply another light layer of glue on top of the thread and wrap with another
layer of crochet thread in a different direction Repeat several more times until
the balloon is covered with thread. Tie on a piece of thread to knot of balloon.
Hang the balloon from the bottom thread to dry for about 24 hours. Pop the balloon
and gently pull it out.
NOTE: There are some beautiful pastel variegated crochet threads which would
be wonderful for this project.
