Get a pine tree branch (which might be kind of hard to find in Arizona!) that is about 4 inches in diameter. Slice the branch into 2-inch thick disks. Place an X in the middle of each disk. Have everyone cover the surface surrounding their X with glue. Have a multitude of autumn dried flowers, small pine cones, nuts in shells, acorns, etc. available. Let the children collage the glued area with the nature items. The more stuff glued on, the better! When each one is done, hot glue a tapered candle on the X. These make beautiful table decorations, and each one is unique.
NOTE: I usually hit the pine cones with a shot of gold spray paint. Also, any kind of red berry really brightens the arrangement. Enjoy!
