Yield: 36 servings
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
1 (9 ounce) box Nonesuch mincemeat
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup butter, softened
1 egg
Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
Combine flour, baking soda and cream of tartar.
In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg. Stir in vanilla
extract and crumbled mincemeat. Add dry ingredients. Mix well. Batter will be
stiff.
Roll into 1 1/4-inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, flatten slightly.
Bake 10-12 minutes or until lightly brown. Cover with a glaze of confectioners'
sugar, milk and vanilla extract while still warm.
