Cherry Coconut Bars recipe

1 cup sifted flour
1/2 cup butter or margarine
3 tablespoons confectioners sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup coconut
1/2 cup quartered maraschino cherries

With hands mix first 3 ingredients until smooth and spread thinly in an 8-inch square pan. Bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees F.

Stir remaining ingredients into eggs. Spread over top of warm baked pastry and bake 30 minutes longer at 350 degrees F. Cool and cut into bars.
