Cowboy Ranch Stew

1 tablespoon fat
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 green pepper, diced
2 cups whole kernel corn
2 cups canned kidney beans
2 cups canned tomatoes
1 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
3/4 teaspoon salt

Put fat in heavy kettle. Add beef, onion and green pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally until meat is browned and onion and green pepper are tender. Drain corn, beans and tomatoes. Add liquids to meat and cook until liquid is reduced to one half.

Add corn, beans, tomatoes, chili powder and salt. Mix together and heat to serving temperature. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Serve at once.
