Mardi Gras Box

1 (4 1/2 x 6-inch) oval Shaker box
Black spray paint
Gold acrylic paint
Purple acrylic paint
Green acrylic paint
Paintbrushes
Liquitex Painters Pearl Medium
Gold fine-point paint pen
Clear spray sealer
Hot glue gun
1 strand gold beads
1 strand purple beads
1 strand green beads
Hole punch
1 (1 1/2 x 2 5/8-inch) piece black card stock
1 (6-inch) gold cord

NOTE: Allow paint, pearl medium, paint pen and sealer to dry after each application.

Remove lid from box. Spray paint box and lid black. Paint 3/4-inch wide gold stripes and 1-inch wide green and purple stripes around sides of box.

Mix one part water with one part pearl medium; apply mixture over stripes.

Use paint pen to write "Mardi Gras" on side of lid.

Apply two to three coats of sealer to box and lid. Replace lid.

Arrange beads on top of lid; spot glue to secure.

For tag, punch hole in card stock. Use paint pen to write message on tag. Use cord to attach tag to beads.
