Chocolate Mud Pudding Cake
Yield: 12 servings
Ingredients
- 2 cups packed brown sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
- 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- 3 1/2 cups boiling water
- About 4 cups vanilla ice cream
Instructions
- In slow cooker mix together 2 cups brown sugar, flour, 1/2 cup cocoa, baking powder and salt.
- Stir in milk, vanilla extract and melted butter.
- In small bowl, stir together 1/2 cup cocoa, 1 1/2 cups brown sugar and chopped nuts. Sprinkle over batter.
- Pour boiling water over top. DO NOT STIR.
- Place lid on slow cooker, and cook on HIGH for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
This recipe works best in a 3 1/2 quart slow cooker. If a larger slow cooker is used, increase ingredients to fill slow cooker at least half full.
