Stewed Prunes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups prunes
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 cups cold water (enough to cover prunes in the pot)
  • 1 or 2 tablespoons granulated sugar if needed (to taste)

Instructions

  1. In a 2 quart saucepan, combine prunes, lemon juice and cinnamon.
  2. Cover with enough cold water and bring to a boil. Turn heat down and simmer for about 40 minutes. Add more water, if needed, and sugar to taste.
