  • Mint Oreo Fudge: 2 cups white chocolate chips + 1 teaspoon mint extract + 1/2 cup crushed Oreos + 1 can vanilla frosting
  • Orangesicle Fudge: 2 cups white chocolate chips + 1 can orange frosting
  • Peanut Butter Chocolate Fudge: 1 jar creamy peanut butter + 1 can chocolate frosting

  • Peppermint Fudge: 2 cups white chocolate chips + 1/2 cup crushed candy canes + 1 can vanilla frosting
  • Pina Colada Fudge: 2 cups white vanilla chips + 1 (3.25 ounce) jar macadamia nuts, chopped, toasted + 1 can vanilla frosting + 1/2 cup chopped dried pineapple + 1/2 cup coconut, toasted + 1 teaspoon rum extract + 1 teaspoon coconut extract
  • Raspberry Cream Cheese Fudge: 2 cups raspberry baking bits + 1 can cream cheese frosting
  • Snickers Bar Fudge: 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips + 1 can chocolate frosting + 2 (3.7 ounce) Snickers bars, chopped
  • Strawberry Fudge: 2 cups white chocolate chips + 1 can strawberry frosting
  • Toffee Butterscotch Fudge: 2 cups butterscotch chips + 1 can caramel pecan frosting + 1/2 cup chopped peanuts + 1/2 cup almond brickle bits
  • Vanilla Fudge: 2 cups white chocolate chips + 1 can vanilla frosting

Instructions

  1. Line an 8-inch square pan with aluminum foil, extending it out over the top edge.
  2. Melt chocolate chips in the microwave for 30 to 45 seconds, stirring every 10 seconds.
  3. Remove from microwave; stir in frosting and stir until well combined.
  4. Pour out into prepared baking pan and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  5. With the exception of the Peanut Butter Fudge, where you just stir the two ingredients together, before placing in the pan, simply melt the chips, then add the frosting and other add-ins, if any.

Notes

I keep bags of various flavored chips in the refrigerator and several frosting flavors on hand at all times because I make this quite often.

1 (12 ounce) bag = 2 cups

My preference for chocolate chips is Ghiradelli from the Ghirardelli Chocolate Company in San Francisco.

Using any of the combinations, only melt the chips. DO NOT heat the frosting or any add-ins such as marshmallows, etc.

Betty Crocker frosting makes a firmer fudge than Pillsbury frosting.

Adding 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract and a pinch of salt to the melted mixture makes the fudge taste even more homemade.

Try layering two different combinations in the pan for a double decker delight; for example, basic recipe on the bottom and Peanut Butter Fudge on the top.

Needless to say, the smaller the pan, the thicker the fudge.
