Ghorabie (Short Cakes - Syrian)
Feast of St. Barbara, December 4
1 cup butter, melted
2 cups flour
2 cups confectioners' sugar
Blanched almonds
Combine butter, flour, and sugar, working all together until the mixture can be
made into small cakes. Press a blanched almond into the center of each. Bake in
a slow oven (250° F.) until cakes are baked but not browned.
Yield: 2 dozen or more cakes, according to size
