Jell-O Banana Bread recipe

1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
3 tablespoons milk
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 cup mashed bananas
1 (3 ounce) box strawberry or apricot Jell-O
    (or any other flavor desired)
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 cups flour

Cream butter; add sugar and egg. Mix well.

In separate deep bowl, combine milk, Jell-O and baking soda. Mix; will fizz. Add bananas. Mix together with butter mixture. Add flour, sifted with baking powder to mixture and mix well. Pour into greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes until a wooden pick comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pan.
