Cream, Chiffon and Custard Pie Recipes
Luscious Lime Pie
2 1/2 cups Quaker 100% Natural Cereal
2 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 envelope unflavored gelatine
1/4 cup cold water
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup bottled or fresh lime juice
10 drops green food coloring
4 drops yellow food coloring
1 cup heavy cream, whipped
For crust, place cereal in a large greased bowl.
Melt together marshmallows and butter in a heavy saucepan over low heat.
Pour over cereal. Mix well. With greased hands, press mixture evenly onto bottom
and sides of a greased 9-inch pie plate; chill.
For filling, soften gelatine in cold water, stir over low heat until dissolved.
Combine dissolved gelatine, condensed milk, lime juice and food colorings. Chill
until mixture is slightly thickened. Fold whipped cream into gelatine mixture.
Chill until mixture mounds. Spoon into chilled crust. Chill until set.
