Strawberry Buckle

4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup milk
2 cups cake flour, sifted
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced

Topping:
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup flour, sifted
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Dash nutmeg

In large mixing bowl cream sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Blend in eggs and vanilla extract then milk.

In a separate bowl sift together dry ingredients. Stir into liquid mixture. Fold in berries. Spread in greased, floured 9-inch square baking pan.

Topping: Cream butter and sugar. Blend in flour and cinnamon. Sprinkle over batter. Dash with nutmeg. Bake at 375 degrees F for 30 to 35 minutes.

Serve warm with cream.
