1 1/4 cups flour
1/4 cup ground almonds
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg, beaten
1 to 4 tablespoons ice cold water
Mix flour, almonds, sugar and salt. Cut in shortening. Add egg and cold water. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill. Roll out. Place in a 9-inch pan. Prick sides and bottom. Bake conventionally or in a microwave on HIGH for 5 to 7 minutes. Cool before filling.
