Molasses Peanut Popcorn

Yield: 4 quarts

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup unpopped popcorn
  • 1 cup roasted, salted peanuts
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Pop the corn.
  3. Place popped corn and peanuts in a roasting pan.
  4. In a saucepan, melt butte; add molasses and sugar, and bring to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes.
  5. Pour mixture over popcorn and peanuts.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes.
  7. Let cool to room temperature.
  8. Store in airtight containers. Lasts only a few days.
