Louisiana Smoky Sauce
2 cups ketchup
1 cup water
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup each chopped celery, onion, parsley, green bell pepper and tomato
2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Liquid Smoke
1 teaspoon each crumbled dried basil, marjoram and oregano
1 teaspoon cinnamon
4 tablespoons butter
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and cook uncovered over medium heat
until reduced to 1 quart, about 30 minutes.
Makes 1 quart.
