Decorator Sparkling Sugar recipe

Sugar tinted in a rainbow of colors is a handy item to have for adding a special decorative touch to cakes, cookies and other desserts.

To make the colored sugar, put a drop or two of food coloring in a container with a tight lid and add a couple tablespoons of sugar and shake hard to distribute the food color evenly. Spread on a plate or wax paper to dry. Store in an airtight container.
