Gourmet Toffee Mix
Yield: 3 1/2 pounds
Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) REAL butter
- 21/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar (1 pound)
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 51/2 cups (6 ounces) Crispix cereal
- 51/2 cups (6 ounces) Rice Chex cereal
- 7 cups (6 ounces) Corn Chex
- 1 pound salted mixed nuts
Instructions
- Heat oven to 250 degrees F.
- Mix butter, brown sugar, corn syrup and vanilla extract in saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil for 5 minutes.
- Mix cereals and nuts together in a roasting pan. Pour syrup over mixture. Mix well. Pour into large roasting pan.
- Bake for 1 hour.
- Spread on wax paper to cool. Break up pieces as needed.
- Store in an airtight container.
