1 cup confectioners sugar
1/2 loaf day old bread (frozen)
1 cup (2 sticks) butter
1/2 cup peanut butter
Heat oven to 250 degrees F.
Trim edges from bread slices while still frozen. Reserve crusts. Cut each slice into four strips. Put strips and edges into oven for 30 minutes. Cool.
Melt butter; add peanut butter. Dip toasted strips into hot mixture; roll in confectioners sugar. Cool.
Dip again into hot mixture and roll in crumbs, which have been rolled fine from the toasted edges. These can be made ahead and kept in an airtight container.
