1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 pound lean ground beef
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon Mexican oregano
2 tablespoons hot chile powder
2 (16 ounce) cans hominy, strained and rinsed
5 cups mild beef broth or water
Heat a pot over moderate heat. Add olive oil and ground beef; fry until the
meat is browned. Add garlic powder, garlic salt, onion powder, oregano and chile
powder and stir to mix well into the meat. Add hominy and broth or water. Bring
to a boil, and simmer for 15 minutes.
Serves 4.
