2 pounds ground beef
1 medium onions, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 can green chiles, chopped
5 tablespoons chili powder
1 small can chopped ripe olives
2 cans tomatoes
1 1/2 cups cornmeal mixed with 1 1/2 cups cold water
3 cups boiling salted water
2 cups grated sharp Cheddar cheese
Brown meat with onions. Add pepper, chiles, chili powder, olives and tomatoes,
and simmer about 30 minutes.
Boil cornmeal mix in water, stirring constantly until thick (about 5 minutes).
Spread in bottom of a 13 x 9-inch casserole dish. Cover with meat mixture. Cover
with cheese. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes.
Serves 8 to 10.
