2 tablespoons shortening
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 cups confectioners' sugar
9 tablespoons scalded cream
Red food coloring
Combine shortening, butter, vanilla extract, almond extract and salt; blend.
Beat in 1/2 cup of the confectioners sugar. Add hot cream alternately with remaining
sugar, beating well after each addition. Add only enough cream to make a good
spreading consistency. Add a few drops of red coloring to tint frosting a delicate
pink.
