Five-Spice Powder Blend
2 teaspoons aniseed, crushed
2 teaspoons freshly ground pepper
2 teaspoons fennel seeds, crushed
2 teaspoons ground cloves
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight container. Use to flavor
fish or pork.
Yields 1/4 cup.
