Melachino (Greek Wedding Cake)

3/4 cup butter or margarine
1 cup granulated sugar
3 eggs
3/4 cup milk
1 3/4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon mace
1 1/4 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice

Glaze:
1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
5-6 tablespoons water
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add milk alternately with sifted dry ingredients. Stir in lemon juice. Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes. While cake is still hot, drizzle with glaze.
