Baked Water Chestnuts

Ingredients

Chestnuts

  • 1 can water chestnuts
  • Bacon

Sauce

  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Wrap each chestnut in a half slice of bacon. Secure with a wooden pick.
  3. Place wrapped chestnuts on a cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes.
  4. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Combine sauce ingredients.
  6. Put wrapped chestnuts into a casserole dish and pour sauce over them.
  7. Return to oven for another 20 minutes.
