Cheddar Beer Bread

Cheddar Beer Bread is a great quick bread to serve with soup or salad!

Cheddar Beer Bread


  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon kosher or sea salt
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 (12 ounce) beer, at room temperature
  • 2 tablspoons butter


  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Spray a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.
  2. Mix first 4 ingredients in large bowl until blended. Stir in cheese. Add beer; stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. (Do not over-mix. Batter will be lumpy.)
  3. Pour batter into prepared pan; drizzle with butter.
  4. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
  5. Cool bread in pan for 10 minutes. Remove from pan to wire rack; cool completely.

Yield: 16 servings
