Better than Sex Cake

Ingredients

• 1 (18.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix*
• 1 (16 ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained
• 3 bananas, sliced
• 1 small box instant vanilla pudding
• 1 (16 ounce) container whipped topping
• 1 1/4 cups flaked coconut
• 16 ounces chopped nuts
• 1/2 cup granulated sugar

Instructions

1. Bake cake mix according to package directions for one 13 x 9-inch cake.
2. Combine the crushed pineapple (undrained) with the granulated sugar and cook for 5 minutes over medium heat.
3. Set aside to cool.
4. Mix pudding according to package directions.
5. When cake is cool, spread the cooled pineapple mixture over the top, followed by the vanilla pudding, sliced bananas and whipped toping.
6. Sprinkle the flaked coconut and chopped nuts over the top of the cake.
7. Let cake chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving.

Notes

* 18.25 ounce boxes of cake mix have been replaced by 16.5 ounce and 15.25 ounce boxes. To compensate for the volume loss in a 16 ounce box, whisk 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour into the dry cake mix before proceeding with the recipe. To compensate for the volume loss in a 15.25 ounce box, add 1/2 cup + 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour and 1/4 teaspoon baking powder.
