Cake Mix Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 (18.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix*
  • 2 1/2 cups warm water
  • 2 packages dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Mix all; let double in size about 1 hour.
  2. Roll out and spread with butter.
  3. Sprinkle 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 4 teaspoons cinnamon over the top.
  4. Roll up and cut into 1 inch rolls.
  5. Let rise for 1 hour.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes.
  7. Ice with thin icing.

Notes

* 18.25 ounce boxes of cake mix have been replaced by 16.5 ounce and 15.25 ounce boxes. To compensate for the volume loss in a 16 ounce box, whisk 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour into the dry cake mix before proceeding with the recipe. To compensate for the volume loss in a 15.25 ounce box, add 1/2 cup + 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour and 1/4 teaspoon baking powder.
