Milky Way Poke Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 (18.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix*
  • 10 fun-size Milky Way bars, divided
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (12 ounce) jar caramel ice cream topping
  • 1 (12 ounce) carton Cool Whip, thawed

Instructions

  1. Prepare and bake cake according to package directions, using a greased 13 x 9 inch pan.
  2. Meanwhile, chop six candy bars.
  3. Remove cake from oven and immediately sprinkle with chopped candy bars.
  4. Cool on wire rack for 10 minutes.
  5. Using the end of a wooden spoon handle, poke 20 holes in warm cake. Pour milk over cake; cool for 10 minutes.
  6. Pour ice cream topping over cake; cool completely. Spread whipped topping over cake.
  7. Chop remaining candy bars; sprinkle over cake.
  8. Cover and store in the refrigerator.

Notes

* 18.25 ounce boxes of cake mix have been replaced by 15.25 ounce boxes. To compensate for the volume loss, whisk 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour into the dry cake mix before proceeding with the recipe.
