Chocolate Fudge
I have made this since I was 12 years old (30 years!) so you know it must be easy. I like it because you don't have to use the dreaded candy thermometer and it doesn't need refrigeration.
Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup cocoa
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
- 2 1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Mix sugar and cocoa in a medium saucepan.
- Stir in butter, milk and corn syrup. Bring to a boil and boil 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla extract. (Add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans if you like.)
- Pour into an 8 inch square pan.
- Cut into squares.
