Peppermint Cream Cheese Layered Fudge

Ingredients

Chocolate Layer

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons butter (no substitutes), softened
  • 2 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 3 tablespoons baking cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts

Peppermint Layer

  • 2 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candy

Instructions

  1. Line the bottom and sides of an 8 x 4 inch loaf pan with foil. Grease foil with 1 1/2 teaspoons butter; set aside.

Chocolate Layer

  1. In a small mixing bowl, beat cream cheese.
  2. Gradually beat in confectioners' sugar, cocoa, milk and vanilla extract.
  3. Stir in nuts.
  4. Spread into the prepared pan.
  5. Chill for 1 hour or until firm.

Peppermint Layer

  1. Beat cream cheese in a small mixing bowl.
  2. Gradually beat in confectioners' sugar, milk and extract.
  3. Stir in peppermint candy.
  4. Spread evenly over chocolate layer.
  5. Chill for 1 hour or until firm.
  6. Using foil, lift fudge from pan. Gently peel off foil. Cut into squares.
