Cooked Play Clay

This keeps for 2 to 4 weeks.


  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • Food coloring


  1. In a medium-size saucepan, mix all ingredients. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  2. Cool until able to handle and then knead on a floured surface.
  3. Store in sealed container.
