Brandied Almond Bars
Yield: 6 dozen
Ingredients
Base
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour (210 grams)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (115 grams)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (1.42 grams)
- 1/2 cup butter (115 grams)
- 1 egg, beaten
Glaze
- 1/3 cup butter (75 grams)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (115 grams)
- 1/4 cup brandy (59.15 grams)
- 2 tablespoons honey (42.5 grams)
- 1 (6 ounce) package sliced almonds
Instructions
Base
- Combine flour, sugar and salt.
- Cut in butter, then egg and work with fingers until smooth.
- Press into 15 x 10 inch jellyroll pan.
Glaze
- Combine ingredients for glaze (except nuts) and bring to a boil. Remove from heat, add almonds and spread evenly over base.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool, then cut into diamonds or squares.
