Chuck Wagon Chicken Fried Steak

Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 pound cubed or tenderized round steak
  • Black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. Divide cubed round steak into 4 serving size pieces.
  2. Sprinkle steak with black pepper.
  3. With a fork, lightly mix eggs and water.
  4. Dip each steak portion into flour, then into egg mixture and again into flour.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan to 350 to 360 degrees F.
  6. Fry steaks until golden brown.
  7. Turn and fry on other side until done.
  8. Drain on absorbent paper.
  9. Sprinkle with salt.
