French Apple Bread Pudding

French Apple Bread Pudding

Yield: 6 to 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 4 cups cubed French bread
  • 3 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 3/4 cups hot water
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 cups finely chopped and peeled apples

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13 x 9 inch baking dish.
  2. Tear or cut up bread and set aside.
  3. Mix eggs in large bowl.
  4. Mix in sweetened condensed milk, then add water.
  5. Stir in butter, vanilla extract and cinnamon.
  6. Toss apples into bread cubes.
  7. Put into the prepared baking dish.
  8. Pour mixture over and let sit until moistened, pushing down gently with back of wooden spoon.
  9. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes.
  10. Cool and serve warm or cover and refrigerate leftovers.
