Watergate Salad

Watergate Salad was "invented" and became popular during the President Richard Nixon era. It is also known as Shut the Gate Salad, Green Goop, Mean Green or Pistachio Delight.

Yield: 6 to 8 servings

Ingredients

• 1 small box instant pistachio pudding
• 1 small can crushed pineapple, undrained
• 2 cups miniature marshmallows
• 1/2 cup chopped pecans
• 1 medium container Cool Whip, thawed

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, mix dry pudding and pineapple.
2. Fold in Cool Whip.
3. Add marshmallows and pecans.
4. Chill before serving.
