Savory Roasted Turkey
The flavors of bay leaves, onion and oranges permeate the turkey to make it incredibly moist and flavorful.

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon McCormick® Perfect Pinch® Italian Seasoning
- 2 teaspoons seasoned salt
- 1 teaspoon McCormick® Mustard, Ground
- 1 teaspoon McCormick® Garlic Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon McCormick® Black Pepper, Ground
- 1 (12 to 14 pound) whole turkey, fresh or frozen, thawed
- 2 McCormick® Bay Leaves
- 2 celery ribs
- 1 onion, quartered
- 1 small orange, quartered
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Place oven rack in lowest position. Heat oven to 325 degrees F.
- For easy cleanup, line a shallow roasting pan with heavy duty foil. Place roasting rack in pan.
- Mix first 5 ingredients in small bowl.
- Rinse turkey; pat dry. Place turkey, breast-side up, in prepared pan. Sprinkle 2 teaspoons of the seasoning mixture inside turkey. Stuff with bay leaves, celery, onion and orange. Brush turkey breast with oil. Spread remaining seasoning mixture over entire surface and under skin of turkey. Add 1/2 cup water to pan. Cover loosely with heavy duty foil.
- Roast for 1 hour.
- Remove foil. Roast for 2 to 2 1/2 hours longer or until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F (175 degrees F in thigh), basting occasionally with pan juices.
- Remove turkey from oven. Let stand for 20 minutes.
- Transfer to platter or carving board and slice.
- Reserve pan juices to make gravy or to serve with turkey.
