Nutella Butterscotch Bars

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup Nutella
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup miniature chocolate chips

  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Using a rolling pin on a floured surface, roll the puff pastry to 1/8-inch thickness. Prick the dough several times with a fork, covering the surface of the pastry.
  3. Place the dough on a foil-lined cookie sheet and freeze for 15 minutes.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes, until dough is golden brown in color. Set aside to cool.
  5. In a medium bowl, stir together butterscotch chips, Nutella, eggs, flour and miniature chocolate chips. Spread the mixture onto the puff pastry, leaving a 1-inch border.
  6. Turn the oven down to 350 degrees F, and bake the bars for 15-20 minutes. When the bars are done, the top will be cracked slightly and the center will have a creamy texture.
  7. Allow the bars to cool completely and cut with a pizza wheel or sharp knife.
