Roasted Chili Hazelnuts


  • 2 1/2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 3/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 2 cups whole hazelnuts (about 9 ounces)
  • Dash of salt


  1. Melt butter in saucepan; stir in chili powder and salt, then add nuts and toss and stir to coat evenly.
  2. Turn the mixture out onto a shallow baking pan.
  3. Bake at 275 degrees F for 20 minutes.
  4. Cool, then store in airtight container.

Yield: about 2 cups
